Hot desk or dedicated desk: which is right for you?

Tidy desk with a computer monitor, keyboard and office chair

A hot desk means you take any available desk when you arrive. It suits people who work in the space a few days a week, travel often or simply like variety. You bring what you need, work, and leave the desk clear for the next person.

A dedicated desk is reserved for you. It is the better fit if you come in most days, want the same spot every time, or like to leave a monitor and a few essentials set up and ready.

A good way to decide is to count your days. If you expect to be in only occasionally, start with a hot desk. If you find yourself coming in most of the week, a dedicated desk usually becomes the more comfortable choice.
